Download v1.0
Choose your platform below. Not sure which file to use? The standard installer is the easiest way to get started. Windows users can also choose the portable ZIP, while the Linux AppImage is the portable, distribution-independent option.
TextWriter is completely free and open source. If you would like to support the work behind it, you can choose any amount through Buy Me a Coffee — including nothing.
Pay What You WantWant it completely free? No payment, account, or email is required. Just continue to the platform downloads below. It is the same complete app either way.
Please read before downloading: TextWriter's Windows and macOS builds are not code-signed. Windows SmartScreen and macOS Gatekeeper will therefore warn you before the first launch. This is expected, but the decision to continue is yours. Download only from this page and compare your file with the published SHA-256 checksums. A matching checksum confirms you downloaded the exact file published here.

Every download is covered by the release's SHA256SUMS.txt file. Match it before opening the Windows or macOS build if your operating system raises the expected unsigned-app warning.
